Terms and Conditions

Before sending us your device, please read our terms and conditions.

1. Boots digital device and inkjet cartridge recycling initiative is run in partnership with Redeem, 31-37 Etna Road, Falkirk, FK2 9EG.

2. Points will be issued according to the value when you register your device via www.boots.com/recycle.. Redeem shall check the model and determine whether a device is working upon receipt. A working device has to switch on, have no water damage and an undamaged screen.

3. Points will only be issued for non damaged inkjet cartridges on the qualifying list, click here to view the qualifying list.

4. Each device should match the make and model stated when registering your order and meet the following conditions:

  • Be fully charged – to allow us to test it
  • Include chargers and mountings (if applicable) for Sat Navs, digital cameras, mp3s, games consoles. Please do not send chargers for mobile phones.

If we deem your device to be non working then a reduced points balance will be paid. This is non negotiable and in some instances no points will be paid. Please refer to the below tables for further details:

Mobile phones must be received with a fully charged battery (failure to do so will result in a reduced value), please do not send chargers, accessories or user manuals.

Mobile phone non working description The mobile phone points value will be revised by:
If we receive your phone with the battery missing or there is no power in the battery but the phone does power on after it is charged. -10%
If the battery and the cover, aerial or jack is missing but the phone does power on when we use a spare battery. -25%
If we receive your phone with no power in the battery and the phone does not power on when we use a spare battery. -75%
Screen Damage - Bleeding, cracked or broken LCD/ screen (the screen is leaking or has leaked on the inside) -100%
Liquid damage, stolen/blocked, counterfeit/fake or device is in pieces -100%

Satellite Navigation Systems must be received with a fully charged battery, any mountings, charger and manuals (failure to do so will result in a reduced value)

Sat nav non working description The sat nav points value will be revised by:
If we receive your sat nav with no power in the battery but it does power on after it is charged. -10%
If we receive your sat nav with the battery missing or there is no power in the battery but the sat nav does power on when we use a spare battery. -50%
If we receive your sat nav with no power in the battery or the battery is missing and the sat nav does not power on when we use a spare battery. -100%
If the sat nav is missing the mounting, charger or manual. -50%

Liquid damage, stolen/blocked, counterfeit/fake or device is in pieces -100%

If we receive your digital camera with no power in the battery but the camera does power on after it is charged. -10%

If the battery and the cover or aerial is missing but the camera does power on when we use a spare battery. -50%
If we receive your digital camera with no power in the battery or the battery is missing and the camera does not power on when we use a spare battery. -100%
If the digital camera is missing the charger. -50%

Mp3 Players / iPods must be received fully charged and with the charger (failure to do so will result in a reduced value)

Mp3 player / iPod non working description The Mp3 player / iPod points value will be revised by:
If we receive your mp3 player with no power in the battery but it does power on after it is charged. -10%
If we receive your mp3 player with the battery missing or there is no power in the battery but it does power on when we use a spare battery. -50%
If the battery and the cover or aerial is missing but it does power on when we use a spare battery. -50%
If we receive your mp3 player with no power in the battery or the battery is missing and it does not power on when we use a spare battery. -100%
If the mp3 player is missing the charger. -50%
Screen Damage - Bleeding, cracked or broken LCD/ screen (the screen is leaking or has leaked on the inside) -100%
Liquid damage, stolen/blocked, counterfeit/fake or device is in pieces -100%

5. Points will be issued to the Advantage Card holder as stated on the entry form. You must provide your Advantage Card number. The promoter will not be held responsible for any error by the participant.

6. If your device or inkjet cartridge is received without complete contact details, the value of the returned items will be donated to charity.

7. Redeem will not be responsible for devices and inkjet cartridges lost, missing or stolen during transit. Mobile phones and inkjet cartridges that are missing will only be credited if a valid proof of postage can be provided.

8. Devices, accessories and inkjet cartridges cannot be returned once received.

9. Any SIM cards received by Redeem will be destroyed and memory cleaned where possible.

10. Redeem may in its sole discretion refuse to accept devices. Details of devices that are suspected through our records of being stolen may be referred to the appropriate authorities for further investigation.

11. Dealers and stockists are excluded from this offer.

12. Information provided shall be used by Redeem in order to process the offer and dispatch points. All data shall be processed in accordance with the Data Protection Act.

13. All charity donations will be made to Macmillan Cancer Support, registered charity in England and Wales (261017), Scotland (SC039907) and the Isle of Man (604).

14. Once your order is placed the quoted points value is held for seven days. We recommend you post straight away to ensure it gets here on time. After seven days we will pay on the current value, which may be higher or lower dependant on current pricing.
